Project Description
Amazon’s ABQ-1 and ABQ-5 facilities in Albuquerque, New Mexico, were designed by HPA as part of a 100-acre business park with two modern industrial buildings totaling 1.3 million square feet. ABQ-1 is the state’s first robotics-enabled fulfillment center, located off I-40 and Atrisco Vista Boulevard, where automated systems work alongside employees to handle high-volume e-commerce orders. ABQ-5 serves as a companion distribution center, supporting ABQ-1 within Amazon’s regional supply chain. The site includes large truck courts, trailer parking, and employee lots with direct freeway access, along with new roads, utilities, and drainage systems built to support the campus. Perimeter landscaping, entry features, and stormwater basins help balance the industrial scale with the surrounding desert setting. Together, the two buildings form a master-planned campus that highlights Amazon’s long-term investment in New Mexico’s logistics network.
